1.1 Cancellation/Refunds
Refund Procedure
Refunds will be at manager discretion.
We will issue Credit Notes for school trips and closures as long as we have 3 days notice.
Generally refunds will not be made. Parents are able to access information on their account balance via their Account statement once logged in to the website. At the end of each academic term the credit for meals will be “rolled over” to the next term. Requests for refunds will be considered at the end of each academic year where pupils are leaving the school and accounts have an outstanding credit balance of £5.00 or more.
Refunds would also be made in the following circumstances;
There is time lapse between the date a child is accepted for FSM and the date the information is updated at the school. Any meals paid for during this period should be refunded.
Refund when a child moves to a new school.
To cancel an order or request that we repurchase the goods from you please contact Black Pepper.
2.1. The service provided to The School will consist of the following:
2.1.1. Hot meals are prepared, cooked and transported from Black Pepper
2.1.2. Free school meal children are eligible for a main course and dessert at the agreed school meal rate.
2.1.3. Compliance to all relevant legislate when operating the catering service as follows;
2.1.4. 3 Week cycle menu- subject to change by negotiation (School and Black Pepper)
2.1.5. Collection of all monies will be responsibility of Black Pepper
2.1.6. Payment for free school meals will be the responsibility of the School, via invoice from Black Pepper.
2.1.7. Temperature control procedures will be the responsibility of Black Pepper and taken at the kitchen of production. The School will also record on delivery and will record and log the temperature of all delivery hot/cold food.
2.1.8. Delivery of food to the school will be the responsibility of Black Pepper
2.1.9. All initial training of serving staff will be the responsibility of The School. re: Manual Handling/Food Safety
2.1.10. Yearly/Termly Dining Centre Audit reports will be carried out to maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the service.
2.1.11. Black Pepper to comply with the DFEE guidance for School Caterers on implementing National nutritional Standards.
2.1.12. Black Pepper will meet the head or her representative on a regular basis, to discuss catering related issues.
2.1.13. Electrical equipment used on site must be PAT tested annually by The School.
2.1.14. The school will be responsible for keeping food holding areas clean and hygienic, and all catering equipment clean and hygienic.
2.1.15. Food waste dispose is the responsibility of The School.
2.1.16. Gastronorm tins must be emptied before returning/collection of Black Pepper
2.1.17. Black Pepper require reasonable access for the delivery and collection of catering equipment.
2.1.18. Where access is not available to the school or reception is unmanned, meals will be left by reception area, or designated area.
2.1.19. Hot meals are prepared, cooked and transported from Black Pepper.
2.1.20. Black Pepper reserves the right to stop supplying meals if they have not been paid for in advance. This would only happen after the parents/guardians have been issued a written notice via The School.
2.1.21. Black Pepper reserves the right in increase/decrease the cost of school meals. Black Pepper will consult the School before any changes in price are issued. Black Pepper would inform the School at least two month in advance in writing of any changes to price.
3.1. Black Pepper will issue credit notes for school trips as long as five day’s notices is given. Free School Meals will not be issued with a credit note, but will not be charged when invoiced. Pack lunches can be supplied to school for Free School Meal children at request of the School. Pack lunches are supplied at current meal price. Pack lunches will be delivered with meals proceeding the school trips. The School will inform Black Pepper of any special dietary needs.
3.2. Black Pepper will issue credit notes when the school is closed due to bad weather, as long as Black Pepper has been informed by 7:00 on the day of closure. Please contact Black Pepper on the following number (01684 891560) On this occasion Black Pepper reserve the right to change the menu on the day’s succeeding school closure.
